Rick Jacobson
Rick Jacobson graduated in 1980 with degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin.
After a short stint with a Chicago-based landscape firm, Rick began his golf course design career with Packard, Inc. in Chicago. He then went to work for Wadsworth Golf Construction Company, where he gained experience with production management, quality control, and knowledge of best practices and materials for course construction.
In July of 1985, he went to work for Jack Nicklaus Golf Services as Assistant Designer. This position, which evolved from producing plan documents to being a Design Associate, exposed Rick to prominent projects in both the United States and Asia.
Rick's next step was to form Jacobson Golf Course Design, Inc. in November of 1991. His firm creates classic courses that are economically sensible and result in financial success for their owners. Rick also operates under the philosophy of making the most of the relationships between the native landscape and the game of golf, making for aesthetically pleasing, playable, and challenging courses.
